POLYMORPH : Colonel Polly Murphy

"It's not about what I was, but what I can be, which is quite a lot really..."

While the being known as Polly Murphy was born officially in 1970, the woman who was to become her was a twenty year old chemical engineer working for Dow Chemicals in their advanced polymers lab in Michigan. An accident involving industrial spies caused Colonel Murphy's progenitor to fall into a vat of experimental plastic, ending her life as she knew it. Shortly afterward, a new individual coalesced from the polymer mass, capable of shaping itself into any form it desired, and taking an approximation of the form of the young woman who had fused with the advanced material, albiet with only incomplete and garbled memories of her former life. She was adopted as a ward of the U.S. Government and trained at the Olympus Project facility in New Mexico, taking her place among the ranks of The Crusaders a few years afterward. During her tenure with that organization she was a high profile proponent of the 28th Amendment and Emergent Sentients' rights. When The Crusaders disbanded, she eagerly joined The Lawmen Agency, soon becoming a pivotal agent and a natural leader. The years have seen Polymorph mature into a capable and confident commander, fully reconciled with the past that was lost to her, and to whatever the future holds for the B.A.S.E. program.
