THE TANK : Colonel Stan Jarucek
| Stan Jarucek was born in New Jersey to Czech immigrant parents, and joined the Army at age eighteen, becoming a tank driver upon completion of his training. While serving in Europe as part of the crew of an experimental N.A.T.O. tank, a catastrophic accident left all crewmen dead, save Jarucek who was left with third degree burns over 80% of his body. The young soldier managed to miraculously survive this grim turn of events, and volunteered as a test subject for the Olympus Project. It was there Jarucek underwent a refinement of the elemental bonding process developed by Dr. Gerhard Tornkvist, causing his cells to be permanently laced with a titanium steel alloy, and then coated with a special armored carapace made of a top secret plating rumored to be related structurally to Chobham armor. The newly created Tank was placed in the nascent Lawmen Agency, and took very readily to his role as a super powered crime fighter. When B.A.S.E. was initiated, he was chosen as the bureau chief for New York City, where his wry, understated manner and his indestructable nature have made him a well regarded fixture in the super human community. |
