A horrific relic of the past, this individual and his comrades were the result of a genetics experiment run by Dr. Heinrich Von Tier, a.k.a. Dr Beast, on behalf of the Axis powers in WW II. The remote island where this monstrous program was being run was infiltrated and destroyed by members of the Five for Freedom and other Allied super powered agents, but not all of the subjects of Von Tier's experiment were accounted for.

Decades later, a group of ten Shark Troopers surfaced in the thrall of Jolly Roger in an attack on the U.S.S. Constitution, at it's dock in Boston harbor. The creatures, their fearsome strength undimmed by long years immersed in the icy waters of the Atlantic, did some amount of damage to the ship before being subdued by B.A.S.E. operatives and remanded to the Pa.Co. Lockdown facility in Fitchburg. After a brief stay there, the facility was broken into by a team of super powered criminals, apparently seeking to free Deadpan, Red Doll, and Toochak. For unknown reasons, the gang chose to kidnap one of the Shark Troopers incarcerated there, the individual designated #9, leaving the rest of his comrades loose in the facility to impede investigators. These were soon put down by B.A.S.E., and have since been transferred to higher security facilities for further study. #9's current wherabouts are unknown, but it is considered extremely dangerous, and should under no circumstances be approached.
