







CYBERNETIC ORGANISMS

Technically these beings are what you could call Level 5 cyborgs, basically robot bodies equipped with some form of organic brain. Most of thses units died out in the Big One, but some survived to the present day through regular maintenance at some lost installation or a rare configuration of their life support system that put the organic components into suspended animation. Cyborgs are largely free willed, with certain exceptions, and will use reaction checks to determine whether they will obey creatures with proper I.D.'s (Level IV or V). Many have gone quite mad in the years since the Apocalypse, and are much more unpredictable than robots. Some cyborgs (5%) were affected by the Promethius Virus, and may have developed a Mental Mutation or two. Animal brained cyborgs have a similar chance to have achieved sentience through mutation, and are doubly dangerous due to a high rate of insanity due to conflicts between their newly aware brains and their A.I. Processors. Scary stuff.

These sleek robot bodies were installed with the brains of attack dogs, giving them faster reflexes and more sophisticated instincts than your average robot. They can move up to 120 M.P.H. using small helicopter rotors, or 60 M.P.H. on four legs. They are equipped with twin M.P.A.L lasers (Laser Pistols) that can fire in tandem, eliminating recharge time. They can also attack with their rotor blades, for 3d6 damage. They operate on two atomic cells. Attack borgs are protected by a 50 Hit Point Force Field. Some are also armed with missile or grenade launchers as well. These 'borgs can track a subject like a bloodhound, as long as the trail is less than a day old.
Different species of animal brained cyborgs were built in various countries, as well as different models of the attack dog type, but these are extremely rare.

These units ranged somewhere in size between a Soldier Bot and a Tank Bot, and usually worked in tandem with a human A.I. or Mechanized Force Commander. They are basically a human or human like brain wired up to a robot body. They were usually armed with a variety of H.P.A.L Lasers and Missile and Grenade Launchers, and protected by a 100 Hit Point Force Field. Battle Cyborgs generally co-ordinate other robotic and power armor units in the field, using built in com link and Control Unit functions. They could run an army of robots single handed. They run off of a trio of Atomic Cells, running in tandem, and can move up to 60 M.P.H. on four to six legs. Most units have a retractable humanoid torso like unit that allows them to use human tools and interact more naturally with living troops.

These units are human brains built into tall, humanoid bodies. It can command any sort of robot or 'borg equal to a Stage IV I.D., and can only be superseded by a Stage V I.D. They can move up to 30 M.P.H., and use most equipment designed for humans. They co-ordinated and supervised many Pre-Holocaust factories, research labs, and installations, acting as the interface between humans and A.I. units. Many posessed American Citizenship before the Big One, and serve as "living" records of the time before. They run on Atomic Cells.
